  • Stage 2 expansion of Ottawa’s Light Rail Transit System
    The Ottawa Light Rail Transit (LRT) Stage 2 project builds on the Stage 1 construction of the Confederation Line and its 12.5 kilometres of electrified rail. Stage 1 extends from Tunney’s Pasture in the west to Blair Station in the east, including a tunnel through Ottawa’s downtown core.Through Stage 2, three main extensions will be built: Confederation Line East, Confederation Line West, and Trillium Line South. Once completed, these projects will support efforts to reduce urban congestion, increase transit ridership, and improve safety and mobility in the Ottawa region.

    Ms. Margaret M. Thom was born and raised in Fort Providence in the Dehcho Region of the Northwest Territories.Ms. Thom is very active in the North as an educator, counselor, facilitator and volunteer with many years of service to the people of the Northwest Territories.  She has served the Dehcho Education Council as a School Community Counsellor at Deh Gah Elementary and Secondary School in Fort Providence for close to twenty years.

    Justice Arthur Joseph LeBlanc was born in West Arichat, Nova Scotia in 1943 and attended primary and secondary schools in that region. He graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and he earned a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Dalhousie University in 1968.  Following graduation, he was admitted to the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society in November 1968.
